As we drive around town in a lovely brown Nissan van we have a choice of 3 cassette tapes to listen to. The first is Mariah Carey (is she whistling, screaming or singing Mom?) A Vineyard worship tape from 1995 or Randy the Country singer.
We rotate for variety.
As time goes on the music becomes familiar, we pick up the tunes and the lyrics ~ to the point the Collins 6 were all singing along in true country stylee to ‘There’s noooo place like home’
People often ask me ‘Do you still call the UK home or is this home now’?
We all have our own thoughts of what ‘home’ really is. Family, security, shelter, safety, comfort, familiarity, friends, protection…
There are loads of quotes and thoughts on home.
I like this one:
Home is the one place in all this world where hearts are sure of each other. It is the place of confidence. It is the place where we tear off that mask of guarded and suspicious coldness which the world forces us to wear in self-defense, and where we pour out the unreserved communications of full and confiding hearts. It is the spot where expressions of tenderness gush out without any sensation of awkwardness and without any dread of ridicule. ~Frederick W. Robertson
So, back to the question?
