I love birthdays! Last year I stayed at the Malmaison in Birmingham with my gorgeous friend Karen. This year I stayed in Idabel Lake with my gorgeous family. For one who has ‘connectedness’ as one of her main strengths – being in a remote place on your birthday, the year you emigrate…well, it might not be the best idea. But I was determined to embrace the change and be thankful!

We all sat in our cozy cabin, the 6 of us in one bed, opening presents, cards and copious amounts of chocolate. We spent the morning – eating, lazing around and having fun on the lake.

Oh and the connectedness I was talking about? Totally ruled – we left early and I got to speak to my Mom!
