This week the Collins 6 took a little road trip to a place called ‘Crazy Creek’ located between Sicamous and Revelstoke. We were promised hot pools, waterfalls and a brand new 2 bedroom cabin.
We hit Hwy1 and travelled just a few of the 8,030 km stretch that is one of the worlds longest national highways.
The Crazy Creek signs began to appear and we soon reached our destination. On leaving the Hwy we arrived at what I would describe as a building site. We surveyed the site, diggers, trucks and an odd building here and there.
One of the children asked ‘Where are we?’ to which i replied ‘this is a building site, that building there is the site office and the resort and our cabin getaway is over there… somewhere’
We were welcomed into the warm reception, treated like royalty and we headed off to find cabin number 5.
‘Er…Wait. No. That is the building site office Mom’
‘I was wrong kids, that is our cabin’.
I relaxed in the hot pools breathing in high mountain air, meditated on the powerful waterfalls and enjoyed my immaculate cabin.
I was also excited to be part of a much bigger vision.
Soon the site would become an area with a hotel, a convention centre, restaurant, a kids water park, bumper boats and an outward bound centre….A big vision!
We love taking the time to hear people’s vision, ideas and inspiration.
And even more we love encouraging, supporting and releasing that vision, which is why we don’t mind sleeping amongst the diggers.
Proverbs 29:18 says this ‘where there is no vision, the people perish’ a truth we live by, for our own lives. the lives of children and our church.
So as Michelangelo said ‘I saw an angel in the marble and carved until I set him free’
Be encouraged today to relentlessly chip away.
By the way. I’m really looking forward to Banff Springs Hotel.
