Moving country…
They told me it would take two years to feel settled.
Today is two years – and it’s raining hard, just to make me feel at home.
I want to thank you for joining me on this journey. You have encouraged and prayed for me. I am thankful.
It’s all about the journey we are told.
Many ask ‘does it feel like home’ and I answer ‘yes it does’
And
‘Do you miss home’? and I answer ‘Yes I do’
Home.
It’s here, it’s today, it’s life and family and friends.
But you know, for me as a Christian. It’s more.
We pray ‘On earth as it is in heaven’ Have you ever stopped and grasped that truth.
On earth….
In my search for words I came across a today’s post from Anne Voskamp – she has kindly summed up my thoughts.
In Christ, you’re a native of heaven right now. You aren’t a citizen of here trying to work into heaven. You’re a citizen of heaven trying to work through here.
When your ethnicity is heaven, then all adversity offers the gift of intimacy, driving you into the home of His heart.
And the longer I live, the more I feel like an exile. This is a gift. The exiled make His extravagant love their home.
We were made for heaven and Him and our heart beats hard for it.
Those words make sense to this pilgrim: definition – ‘foreigner or wayfarer’…
I love this older more poetic definition of pilgrim which has its root in the latin ‘through the field’. The ancient image suggests a curious soul who walks beyond known boundaries, crosses fields, touches the earth with a destination in mind and purpose in heart.
So the curious Collins’ continue on this pilgrimage through the fields, into our third year.
Crying out ‘on earth as it is in heaven’
Michelle x
Join me in praying:
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your Kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins,
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours.
Now and for ever.
Amen
Oh. Yes.
SO thankful you found your way here pilgrim. So thankful you are in my life. So excited to pursue HIS will in THIS place.

Beautifully written and posed Michelle. Happy 2nd year. Wayfaring doesn’t quite solve the “we miss you” bit for me (and I suspect a few others), but then its hard to do that…
🙂 XOXOXOX to all the Collinseseses.

I can imagine! I grew up in Haiti as a missionary kid. Lived in the US for 12 years, and then married a South African and we spent 3 years there. Great to “meet” you here in this crazy bloggy connecting world!
