I Passed!

Driving in Canada.

One of the biggest deals for me was  driving. That was before I drove. Once behind the wheel, on the wrong side of the car on the wrong side of the road. All was well and before long, I was as confident as the next person (the really confident one) Something my confidence didn’t stretch to was taking my test again – I have to take it by December. So, 3 months in, I decided today to go in and book it for November – giving me chance to learn again and refresh on theory.

I confidently told the member what I needed and  found out that the law was changed a few weeks ago and my UK license can be swapped without a test! I kissed the ICBC member of staff, skipped out of the office, got into my van and drove off.

I did something today for the first time since I got here – got a little confused at an intersection and (briefly) drove down the wrong side of the road.

Oh… so having the license doesn’t make me a Canadian driver eh?

Always good to be on your guard.
